Project: SESAC building post-tensioned floors - Nashville, TN
Customer: Panattoni Development - Newport Beach, CA
Contractor: Alston Construction - Nashville, TN
Finisher: Southern Pan Services - Lithonia, GA
Project obstacles and solutions: In 2014, Panattoni Development announced its plans to build a mixed-use office building with a parking garage on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. Performing rights group, SESAC will be the main tenant in the five-level, 95,000 square foot building.

IMI QC/QA had a variety of challenges on this project. The work on the floors and pillars were key to keeping the project on schedule. Pillars had to reach a strength of 8,000 psi. The concrete for the post-tensioned concrete floors had to reach an early strength of 3,000 psi in 72 hours so the tendons could be stretched. However, the pace of construction and tight schedules required the concrete to meet early strength in as little as 24 hours before the tendons were stretched. IMI QC/QA worked with Southern Pan and Alston to make sure the concrete met maturity levels without compromising other structural requirements.

IMI supplied a total of 8,000 yards of concrete for this project. For more information on post-tensioned concrete floors, contact one of our sales representatives. Click here.
